PRESENTATION OF FINANCIAL ACCOUNTS
Louise had prepared Accounts which were agreed and signed by Jo and Jean. One set was given to Andrew to pass to the Council as part of our application for a Grant.

Jo thanked Louise for her efforts last year, in particular obtaining Community Interest Company status (CIC) for Clevedon Pride.

MINUTES OF LAST MEETING
The minutes of the last meeting were unanimously approved.
CHAIRMAN’S REPORT
Jo said that we did really well last year and gained recognition through publicity in the papers.

At the moment, we are short of approximately £300 to be able to pay the invoice for the Christmas lights from WRS Alarms, but have been promised two donations. Mike offered to give a loan to Clevedon Pride to make up the total amount.
FUNDRAISING /EVENTS
7p.m. Saturday 18th February – Quiz Evening at the Barn
Jean will confirm booking and find out how many can be seated (?60). £6 per ticket including ploughman’s. Mike will organise and be compere, also get wine from Morrisons on a sale or return basis. A licence will need to be obtained to sell alcohol. Bottles of wine and glasses of soft drinks will be on sale. Andrew will sell drinks. Julie will ask Lisa if she can do the tickets and posters.
Ann, Sue and Jean will organise the food and will have a sub-committee meeting at Jean’s on Tuesday, 7th February.
The quiz will need to finish by 9.30p.m.

10a.m. – 1 p.m. Saturday 17th March – Home & Garden Bazaar –in Queen Square
Sale of unwanted household items, crockery, kitchenware, garden tools, etc. No clothes or electrical goods. Set up stalls from 9 a.m. Mike to apply for a licence.
Items will be collected on Thursday 8th and 15th March by Julie and Matt. Advertise that those with items should ring either 01275 870302/871591 to arrange collection.
Louise is to arrange to borrow 20 tables from the Baptist Church.
17th March – Ladies Night
This should be postponed in the meantime.
21st April – Spring Fair in Square
3rd/4th June – Diamond Jubilee
Linda suggested having a 1950’s themed event near Marine Lake.
23/24th June – Open Gardens
21st July – Treasure Hunt
?July or August – Teddy Bears Picnic
1st December – 2p.m. – 6p.m. Christmas Fair
Mike to arrange with Council.
FLOWER REPORT
2 new large tubs @ £55 each plus compost and flowers are required. Linda and Sue are going to be planting grasses. Also Linda suggested planting Black Bamboo.
The area behind the toilets is a mess and the loose fencing needs taking away. Mike will attend to this.
LITTER REPORT
Ann was at a meeting at Clevedon School as some of the pupils are studying the environment and are interested in helping to tidy the area. Ann suggested they start by clearing litter from the school grounds.

COUNCIL REPORT
A suitable bollard is still being sourced as the original one which was suggested is no longer manufactured.
The Police want to keep the CCTV although it does not reduce crime and is not used for minor incidents.
PUBLICITY REPORT
Julie will issue a press release to say that Jo is now the Chairman and that Clevedon Pride does not only consist of traders, but local business people. Jo is to give a photo and article to Julie.
Julie will advertise the Quiz Evening and Bazaar.
Jo suggested that every time Clevedon Pride is mentioned, it should be advertised that it is a Community Interest Company.
ANY OTHER BUSINESS
Mike had received a letter from HMRC in connection with Corporation Tax now that Clevedon Pride is a Community Interest Company. This is being passed to Ordered Management to deal with.
Andrew suggested setting up a prize for the company and individual which does the most for the town.
Jo suggested a letter in the paper thanking those who have given donations.
Julie suggested that the tree in the Square should be lit up at Christmas.
Linda suggested that the Christmas lights should be on all day as they would brighten up the square on dull days when people are about.
Jean and Jo have to open a new bank account at HSBC for Clevedon Pride CIC.

Tuesday, 28th February 2012 at 7pm in the Conservative Club and thereafter on the fourth Tuesday of each month
